I always had birthmarks as a child. I did not start getting the bumps on my skin until I was 30- that was in 1995.I remeber because it was about the time I got divorced.Could be that the stress made it appear-I dont know. It never bothered me at all but I had a large mole( it was a neurofibroma) removed I think it was in 2003.that was when I was diagnosed with neurofibromatosis

Some people look at me and ask about it or ask me whats wrong with my skin,It never really bothers me,especially now that I am older. I tell them it aint contagious.Sometimes it scares the guys off.And I really dont have any other symptoms.It does seem as I get older that I get more bumps.I am 43 now.I have a 24 year old and she does not show any symptoms at all.
