To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download MY SON HAS CHRONIC MYOPATHY My son was diagnosed at 16 with acute Rhabdomyolysis. We had no idea of the cause except a mild pharyngitis and viral illness two weeks prior. He was severely weakened from the event for over a month. Over the year he made a full recovery. He went to college out of state for baseball and had a milder presentation of Rhabdo and muscle weakness. At that time our geneticist ordered L Carnitine 330mcg five tablets BID. Graham responded well and resumed his activities. All testing was non-conclusive. We did a muscle biopsy which showed chronic, mild myopathy. We added vitamin B 50 to his daily regimine and he has had only a mild episode last summer. He has mild cardiomyopathy as well. Now we notice a mild lid lag in family photos of the left eye. He is sensitive to flashing lights.Just sharing, would appreciate feed back. Comments
