To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Phillip’s story as recorded by his wife, MaryAnn On July 8, 08 Phillip and I were driving back home to Texas from Chicago when a semi truck nearly hit us. My husband managed to avoid a collision. He was naturally furious with the truck driver and told me to phone the number on the semi truck to complain about the driver. As I handed the cell phone to Phillip, I noticed his right eye nearly closed. I also noticed his right hand shaking violently. The first thing I thought was that Phillip may have had a stroke Eventually his hand quit shaking but his eye remained closed and at times partially closed. He continued driving on home. We waited a week or so before going to the doctor. I think Phillip thought whatever was wrong would magically go away. An MRI indicated that Phillip has several mini strokes….but the doctor was not convinced that this was the reason his eye was closing. The doctor sent him to a specialist. The specialist ordered a test to determine whether Phillip may have Myasthenia Gravis He does. Neither of us had heard of the disease. Phillip is now taking the prescribed medicine but it doesn’t seem to be helping….perhaps, it is just because he just started taking it…perhaps it is because he is over 60 years old. If anyone out there has had a similar experience or knows of someone that has, please post your comments. Thank you and May God Bless You. Comments
