New to MG

by: Lynda M on Thu, Sep 20 2007

About a month ago I woke up and I couldn’t open my eyelids. My brain said “open” but they wouldn’t.
It lasted for a short time and then when they did open, they were droopy.
This is happening more frequently now.
Before the eye thing, I would wake up in the middle of the night literally gasping for air. I thought I had sleep apnea, but I don’t snore.
Has anyone experienced anything like this?
I don’t have any other symptoms. I’m very active, even at 53. I surf, lift weights, snow ski and do yoga and pilates. I have never noticed any other muscles being unusually weak.

Prior to see him, I was sent to all kinds of specialists, and none of them actually seemed to believe me when I explained what was going on. [more..]
