DEALING WITH MY HUSBANDS MSA

MY HUSBAND WAS DIAGNOSED WITH MSA IN FEBRUARY 2004. HIS DOCTOR HAD BEEN TREATING HIM FOR PARKINSON DISEASE BUT THE DRUGS HAD NO EFFECT. HE SENT HIM TO A NEUROLOGIST AND HE GAVE HIM THE CORRECT DIAGNOSIS. AT THE TIME HE HAD THE FIRST STAGE OF THE DISEASE (PARKINSON SYNDROME. HE HAD TROUBLE WITH HIS WALKING AND HAD TO USE A CANE BUT AS OF THE LAST 2 WEEKS, THAT HAS CEASED AND NOW REQUIRES HELP IN GOING TO THE BATHROOM AND GETTING DRESSED. HE HASN’T DEVELOPED ANY OTHER SYMPTOMS; HE CAN STILL SWALLOW AND THOUGH HE HAS HAD DIARHEA WHICH COULD BE CONTRIBUTED TO A COUGH/COLD HE’S GOT HE STILL HAS THE ABILITY TO URINATE AND HAVE BOWEL MOVEMENTS WITHOUT HAVING TO WEAR DIAPERS. WE TAKE IT ONE DAY AT A TIME AND DON’T DWELL ON THE FUTURE.
