My Story…
by: Marie
on Fri, Oct 05 2007
I have suffered from migraines from the age of 9 and I am just about to turn 22. The auras that I see are at least helpful to let me know when to take medicine, but also makes things hard when I am at work, school…making it difficult to see and focus. I wish that their was something that I could do to end my suffering. I go through cycles it seems- find something that leaves me headache free for 2-3 months, but then the next month I could start getting migraines again just as before. This has gone on for years, and is so depressing. I just wanted to let anyone my age out there know that you are not alone!!

I am 39 years of age, and whilst I had suffered migraine in my early 20’s, I had not experienced any episodes for a vast number of years. My migraines now are quite different to those I had years ago, and in fact are only one part of the problem. This new wave of migraines have created a permanent problem with vertigo, which is probably more frustrating than the headaches. I had a number of scans, both CT and MRI and Migraine Associated with Vertigo (MAV) is the diagnosis.

I have suffered from migraines since about the age of 10. I am almost 21 now. I have never vomitted from a migraine.. but I do get severely nauseated. I take 120mg of Inderal(blood thinner) a day. I still get daily headaches and migraines probably about once a week.
