To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Migraine with aura The first time I experienced a migraine with aura I was working for a doctor. All of a sudden my vision was blurred by squiggly lines of light and I could not see anything straight on, only to the side view. A short while later the throbbing migraine comes on. My vision returns but the light sensitivity is so severe that I only want to lay in a dark room. Even after the headache finally goes away I am left feeling very weak and tired for 2-3 days with a dull sensation of pain in my head. I have learned that as soon as the vision problems start to arrange for someone to help me with my children, take some Tylenol, and then go lay down. I used to also ingest some type of caffeine, whether it be coffee, chocolate, or soda but now am starting to suspect it actually triggers my migraines. I am fortunate that I am only affected about every 1-2 years but when it hits, they are persistent for a week or two. I do believe it is hereditary since my brother also experienced migraines His were accompanied by vomiting and have disappeared since he eliminated caffeine from his daily diet. I think it is very scary when I experience them. Comments
