I am an RN with a BSN I got afte dx with hydrocephalus just to see if I could. My career has spanned over 37 years and was mostly in OB/L&D, some hospice and some case management. In 1985 I was diagnosed with systemic lupus In 1986 I was diagnosed with normal pressure hydrocephalus afte 2 bouts of vertigo and an MRI. I still work full time although I have changed my work to office work. I now am a case manager for the state medicaide doing computer and phone work predominately. My bigest problems related to the hydrocephalus are awkwardness with walking sometimes, some urinary leakage occasionally and short term memory deficit. I write many notes to myself in order to remember things. By doing that I am able to function in my job and in my daily life. I am not a candidate for a shunt due to bad spinal headaches after the spinal testing.
