Its my husband who has it the found it back in 2000 when he was 28 and in the Marine Corp. Since then he has had 20 revisions since the first shunt was placed. Most of those took place within one year. We actually spent our honeymoon in the ISU, and our first 2 ann. It is hard on my husband because he doesn’t want to be a burnden and for along time he wouldn’t tell me his shunt was not working until he was throwing up and his right leg was numb. It puts a strain on a marriage but I have to say the thought has never crossed my mind about leaving. We are a team and now it affects his memory and he wakes up daily with headaches. We are trying new medications and we rely on cell phones to help with remembering thing and we email through out the day. That way if he has a meeting or other appointment I can remind him. I feel like this is not a curses. I feel that is has made us closer and we are a team. God doesn’t give us more than we can handle, although there are times we wonder if we can handle it. We always do and never complain. Comments
