To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Codys Story My grandson had headaches in the back of his head for about a year before he recieved a diagnosis of Chari Type 1 , not enough room for the spinal fluid to get up to his brain. At age 13 , he had surgery to correct this malformation. In the weeks following ,he had two more surgeries to relieve swelling from the spinal fluid because now he had excess fluid around his brain. Finally the surgons put a shunt in his head to relieve the excess fluid. It has been almost 2 years now and he seems to be doing okay. He has an MRI every 6 months. He cant do sports at all because of his condition, which has caused him some depression . The doctors say if his condition had not been known , as time went on, he could have become disabled or even worse died. I just pray that his shunt last for a number of years. He has had to go through so much at his age and to adjust to a much different life for his future than he had planned. Comments
