Hydrocephalus didn’t slow me down!

by: Steph B on Mon, Apr 16 2007

At the age of 7, I was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus after several months of unidentified health issues (ie: headaches, blurred vision, memory loss, vomiting, IQ deficit). That year, I had a VP shunt put in to correct the problem. Immediately after the surgery, the memory problems, as well as IQ deficit were non-existent.

Now I’m 23, with an undergraduate degree in Health Science, working on my doctorate. Throughout the years I’ve met a few people here and there with Hydrocephalus, and life is good for them too.

My prayers go out to you and your families, but just know that it’ll be ok.

God Bless!
