hemifacial spasms

Out of the blue one night the whole right side of my face went into a spasm. I thought I was having a stroke & went to the ER. After that I had them several times a wk. Shortly thereafter I started getting ocipital neuralgia in my neck & head and had to have blocking shots to stop the pain. To my amazement, they also stopped the facial spasms. Then my Dr. decided to check my B12. It was so low that I had to have shots weekly. Low and behold the neck spasms have gone, as well as the facial spasms. and no painful shots. It has been 4 mos. now. B12 effects every cell, muscle & nerve in your body. I encourage you to have B12 levels checked before resorting to botox or even surgery. B12 shouldn’t be below 500…and thats at the low end of normal. Its been such a relief not to have these terrible spasms. I’m not afraid now to go anywhere….in fact, I don’t really even think about them anymore.
