To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download MY STORY I am a 61 year old female who has had a right hemi facial spasm for around 25 years which started around age 35 or so. It began with an eyelid twitch and has consistently progressed. It now affects the entire right side of my face. It is becoming more and more bothersome since people think I am winking at them. I notice people with whom I am talking staring at my eye. I have found easier most times to just tell them what is going on. Of course, stress causes it to be worse. It is difficult at the dentist’s office, singing, driving, etc. I am also finding my eye tears more than the left. I have recently had a problem with a vitreous detachment in that eye which makes me wonder if that may also be connected with the hemi facial spasm (or if it just old age). Has anyone out there ever had any problems of this type? I also have 2 herniated cervical discs and wonder if this could contribute in any way to the spasm. Anyone ever heard of anything like that? I’m getting very tired but don’t really want the brain surgery!!! Thank God it is not painful physically! Comments
