To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Small mouth I’ve always had a small mouth, even before puberty. Now, even after my growing is all done it still resembles the mouth of a 10-12 year old. To put this in perspective, I have grooves in my tongue from where my teeth press in. Needless to say, there isn’t much room in my mouth for everything. When I was eleven, my wisdom teeth came in. Premature, I know. They would come in and out, causing a great deal of pain when they did but my family never got around to getting the surgery lined up. When we finally did, it was four years after they first came in. Over that time, my headaches became increasingly more potent and regular. A few months after my procedure, I went in for my regular dentist checkup. He was not happy with what he saw. Because of my small mouth, my wisdom teeth were forced to grow completely horizontal, pushing the roots of my teeth in all different directions. He asked me if I experienced headaches a lot to which I admitted to. He told me that because my mouth was too small, the roots of my teeth post-wisdom teeth were dangerously close to my ears. This condition would lead to a chance of premature deafness, vertigo and severe regular migraines These were all things that my grandmother has been experiencing. So now, as a sixteen year old girl, I have to decide if I would rather live with relatively painful headaches every other day with a chance of hearing loss and balance decay or to have my jaw fractured and reset. It’s not exactly an easy choice to be pressed with. Comments
