Scared but hopeful

I first heard of GBS in February of 2009 I was having a sinus infection and was prescribed antibiotics, the same night I had this pins and needles feeling in my feet, hands and tongue. I went to my doctor and she said it was caused by the antibotics and switched them. It was about three days later, I felt really sick I was in the bathroom and went to throw up but I fell and I could not get up. I went to the ER and the doc said it was all in my head and I told him to think again, he finally called neurology. I was in the hospital twice, the first time was a waste of my time and money, they gave me two treatments if IVIG and sent me home. Well about two weeks later I was worse and I was taken to a different hospital and this time I got better.

My GBS was mild thank god, it did not affect my breathing and i had some movement. They gave me 5 more treatments and i was home a week later. 3 days later I could walk on my own and it kept getting better. When I was able to go places I would get exhausted as expected but the more time that past the better I felt. The tingling sensation in my feet was the last to go. I think I am confused because I hear people talk about how they still have pain. I never really had pain just the tingling sensation that was uncomfortable. They also would say they still had problems years later. and here I recovered quickly.

Well now I am freaked out because I have a chest or sinus cold and my feet have a little tingling sensation in the toes, I am worried that I am relapsing and am scared to death. I can’t go through that again. I know I can with God’s help but last time I was sick I lost my job and I can’t lose my job again. I can’t afford it.

So is it normal to have the tingling sensation come back or am I getting sick again. I just worry that every time I have a cold I will relapse. I tell myself not to worry about it since I have no control over it but it still in the back if my head. Dealing with GBS was the hardest thing I ever had to deal with. I still cry when I talk about my experience. I even have dreams where I am on the floor and I can’t get up. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
