To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download My experience with GBS! It was Feb 2009 I was having sinus problems and my mom took me to the doctor she said I had a sinus infection and prescribe antibiotics, that night my feet and hands felt like they were asleep and when I would get up I would have no balance while walking, doctor thought it was the medicine so she changed it. A couple of days later I fell to the floor and I could not get up so I went to the ER, the doctor said it basically all in my head and due to anxiety and I told him that me not being able to walk has nothing to so with anxiety he called a neurosurgeon. They did a spinal tap and told me I had GBS they gave me two does of IVIG ( i think that is what it is called) and I really wanted to go home so they sent me home. After two weeks I was worse so my mom took me to a different hospital where they admitted me and did all kinds of test, they gave me more of the treatments and after about 7 days sent me home, three days later I was walking on my own. This is the hardest thing I have to deal with, one day I could take care of myself the next I was helpless. I still come to tears talking about it but I know it could have been worse. It did not affect my breathing thank god. Today I am doing great I really don’t have an problems related to GBS, There is hope out there. Comments
