To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download 3 years after Gullian-Barre My Gullian-barre started after I had received a flu shot at work. I had the flu shot every year for years, and never had a side effect. On Friday, 1/20/2006 I started that evening with pain in my legs. Not muscle spasms, just a throbbing that no pill could ease the pain. The next day I took myself to the emergency room. I was crying in pain but he told me to call my doctor on Monday and he gave me a prescription for pain. Monday morning I fell trying to get out of he bed. My legs would no longer hold me up and I could not believe what was happening to me. The doctor wanted me to go for a leg scan and when I got to the office the staff called the life squad. They thought I had had a stroke I was very lucky! I had a great doctor who call in a neurologist and I was his second patient he had in all the years he had been a Doctor. I spent 28 days in the hospital. I learn to walk again, and now I can even smile! I still have a little palsy on the right side of my face. And I still have a little problem chewing my food and moving around in my mouth. But at least I can now eat and taste my food. I went for electrical stimulation on my face. But they said that if it did not come back in one year then it would not come back. So I smile a little crooked but life is good. I hope that you have Great Doctor’s who can get you back on your feet again. This disease can effect anyone at any age, men, women, and children. Every day you will find that you will feel better. It has been a journey that I wish never to take again. Comments
