To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Living after GBS It started with a nagging cold and after not being able to walk one morning I was diagnosed with GB in Jan 2006,I was hospitalized for 6 months in which I was given the last rites 3 times,I went on a respirator after 4 days and was transferred to a more acute care hospital in which I was in intensive care for 5 weeks with my eyes sewed shut because I lost all muscle movement. I started the long road back which eventually took 11 months. I was transferred to Drake Hospital in Cincinnati Ohio which was my savior, there I met a Dr. who guided me back to recovery and gave me hope when some Drs. thought I was going to be a vegetable,so I am here to tell you not to give up on any treatment, there are always new methods on the horizon. I am still living with parts of the GB but I am still walking and talking, I still have weakness in my feet and hands and cannot work any more but I am still living a fairly normal life. P.S. I was able to walk my daughter down the aisle at her wedding and see my grandson born. Comments
