I thought it was cuz they were tired of holding the steering wheel. then my feet started to do the same. after a 4 hour run i was back at the yard and my back started to hurt. as i got out of my truck i noticed that my legs were a little weak. as if i had stepped off of a curb i didnt know was there and my legs buckled but i was able to keep from falling. I thought weird but passed it off to not getting enough exercise. that night i felt weak and tired so i went to bed early. the next morning i awoke to not being able to walk right and it got worse so i went to the emergency room they told me i was ok and to go see my doctor. so i waited until the next day to see my doctor and when i awoke on the second day i could no longer walk. so i went to the hospital again and that was when a neurologist did some test{spinal tap}and bingo i was in trouble.5 weeks in icu and another 6 months in the hospital in a coma and paralyzed from head to toe. I finally made it to re-hab which took another 6 months. so after approx.1 year i made it back home only to go every day to re-hab until i got out of my wheel chair onto a walker. then 3 months to a cane. it has been a long haul and thank god i had a good employer that stood by me the whole time. when i had met my million dollar mark i lost my insurance. had had to go on welfare to make it back to work. i no longer drive for a living i am a dispatcher for my company. and am doing good now. but it is still there. and i guess it will be until i die. so i live with it and give everyone living with gbs my sympathy and say good work keep going.
