To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download GBS/ Jonathan’s story My son,14 years old, went to school on March 10, 2008. During PE he was jogging and he started having shortness of breath along with chest pain The school nurse called and when I went in to pick him up from school, he was unable to walk. I took him straight to the ER and he went through several tests. They could not determine what was wrong with him. Over the next few days he grew weaker and weaker. I went back to his doctor and begged them for help. They continued with more test. Finally they consulted a neurologist and decided it was GBS After a visit with the neurologist he was very sure by the onset and progression of events that it is GBS. My son has been taking physical therapy three times a week ever since the following week of March 10. I thank God for such great therapist that has been working with my son. There is no way of knowing if he will completely recover but we are working to recover 100%. We firmly believe that prayers and good therapy has gotten him this far. He was a very strong and athletic young man. He is determined to get better and he has a positive outlook on his recovery. Comments
