To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Guillian Barre I was diagnosed with GB when I was 13 years old. It started after a very bad cold and the initial symptoms were weakness and pain in my upper legs. I ended up becoming completely paralyzed from the neck down and the left side of my face, much like Bells Palsy I am now 38 years old. At the time I had GB there wasn’t much they did except observe you and scrape the bottom of your feet. I was very much a guinne pig (sp?) and the young residents all came daily to observe me. I did have spinal taps and constant blood drawn. They wanted to put me on a respirator but I would not let them. At that point I began to recover. I believe it was God’s intervention. I laid in a hospital bed for a month and a half. The left side of my face still droops and when I am tired my left eye doesn’t completely close. I just hope I never have a re-occurance of this as it was one of the most miserable times in my life. Comments
