To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Life after guillain-barre My name is Deb and I was only 11 when I came down with guillain-barre I was one of very few cases at that time. They used me as a guinea pig because there wasn’t much known about it at the time. I was in the hospital. I was paralyzed from the neck down completely and was too weak for the trach. They went down to the basement of the hospital and dusted off the iron lung. They had to have a nurse come out of retirement to train other nurses how to operate this equipment. I am now 46 years old and have two daughters. I have had symptoms of relapses in the last couple of years and would welcome any information from someone who could tell me if these are normal or could be caused from something else entirely.
