LIVE EACH DAY…
by: Jessie on Fri, May 02 2008

Who would have thought, I would end up like this at 42! It all started about ten yrs ago, I had a car accident where a lady backed into me at a local gas station with the impact hitting the center of the car, I stiffened up naturally thus causing injury to my right shoulder and both wrists. I was in physical theraphy for months, surgery on the right wrist twice and once on the left, had mri’s done, went to pain management doctors which done massage theraphy, not to say all the work days I missed for all this and yes a lawsuit was filed but all the money in the world can’t restore your health.

I realized some years in between the wrist surgeries that I was having unexplained body aches and pains which I couldn’t figure out and so I talked with my orthopedic and he stated “You do know you have “FIBROMYALGIA” and I immediately was shocked because i didn’t know much about it but soon read everything I could find and it explained every pain I was having. Knowing what I was dealing with I went on with life as normal as I could until about a year ago, I started having severe pains in my legs, lower back and couldn’t hardly walk because of pain in my feet so bad. Having been blessed with two beautiful grand-daughters I said no…not me i can’t be down I have to be able to enjoy them…the pain got worse and worse, I couldn’t walk at the end of the day my feet hurt so bad, my hips were stiff, my everything would hurt…!

Finally I went to the doctor in January to a new Doctor(my husbands pcp)and she seen the pain all over my face and we explained to her that my quality of life had gone nose-diving down the hill, so she done x-rays and plent of bloodwork to find I have planter faciatis in my feet, which I now have orthodics for as well as theraphy, also she said bloodwork showed I had a positive result for lupus, went to two rheumatologists found that to be negative but that I have chronic fatigue syndrome, chronic pain, and my last trip to the rheumatologists I had 42 yes 42 trigger point injection shots which lasted for about 2 weeks, I was in so much again I had to go back to my pcp and she said I would have to have more shots, more extensive physical theraphy and see a pain management Dr. I was so disheartened, after being off work for three months I thought I was ready to conquer the world again but as the old saying is 2 steps forward 3 steps back…I want to get back a piece of my life so I can enjoy running and playing with the grand-daughters and shopping with my daughters again.

My quality of life stinks at he moment but I have a wonderful man beside me each and evey step of the way, he has seen me cry with the pain, rub my aches that keep me up at night and soothes me hen i get so upset. Never have I been one to take strong pain meds but this has taken its toll, when I have the tpi shots I can do without but when the pain comes back I feel like I am at ground zero again.

Never in a million years would I have thought I would have this kind of pain at 42 but never say never cause it happened to me! I start each day staggering to get my balance, struggle to get a shower and dressed and I pray to god please let the pain ease!!! Nobody could tell just by looking but just stay around for a while and you will see…I look forward to the day I can either be released to go back to work or else they say no-more, your healthe won’t allow it cause I/we are tired of being in limbo. I pray for relief and thank God so far its not lupus but who knows it takes some times up to ten yrs. or more to fully detect so for now i live bu my moto “LIVE EACH DAY AS IF IT WAS YOUR LAST FOR WE DON’T KNOW WHAT TOMORROW HOLDS FOR US”
