Living with Fibromyalgia

Hello, I am 38 and was diag. with FMS almost 12 years ago. I went through 2 years of going to the Drs. off and on because I was being told that it was all in my head and being sent to shrinks NOT BELIEVED AND BEING MAD TO FEEL LIKE A CRAZY PERSON LOOKING FOR DRUGS!!!!!! which to that point in my life had not taken and was trying to be very involved with my children.

After as I said 2 years being given every test you can possibly think of including aids I was told that I had cancer and was subjected to many MRI’s and catscans including being sent to shands hospital in gainsville in FL and was put through 2 days of tests again. I could not have been more suprised for them to come back and tell me that I had a thing called fibromyalgia. I then started the process of finding a Dr, that would agree to treat me which seemed to not exist. When I did find one i was put on so many meds that I was not able to function. Even then I was not out of pain but I existed with it.

Then all of a sudden I got a letter from the Dr. that they could no longer treat me, this was hell they put me on them all then dropped me and did not care what i was going through. I have since found another one that is great he understands and I am on a few meds that include Pain meds, muscle relaxer, sleep aid and I also suffer from RLS so i also have to take meds for that. I am normal now though and i do better as far as moods and not feeling like I would rather die. I have not been able to work since 2003 and I am now trying to get disability and have been turned down 2x any information anyone has on that I sure could use. Good luck.
