Essential Tremor and Blood Pressure

For a year I have had an essential tremor which affected my head, neck hands and speech. I thought it was a recurrence of overactive thyroid for which I had received radioactive treatment and now take thyroxin treatment daily. I kept refusing treatment for the tremor and even refused to see a neurologist. However, recently I had a slight stroke and the Ace inhibitor treatment for this has helped remarkably with the tremor although I am still not sleeping and feel a bit off balance in the mornings. The drug is called Lisinopril and hydrochlorothiazide(U.K. APS). A Search engine would tell you more re this. Just type in Lisinopril.
I know this is working as it didnt help the blood pressure initially but it did help the tremor. The “hydrochlorothiazide” was added to finally bring down my blood pressure. For some reason the 2 together do the trick.
This particular Ace Inhibitor has the least side effects of any such drug. I hope and pray it continues to work for me. Life was getting so difficult as I have arthritis and naturally the head tremor was affecting my neck big time.
I do hope that this post will give others the encouragement to accept some of the help that is available.

    I’ve been newly diagnosed with ET. Before I was diagnosed, I didn’t know what it was and just tried to live with it. It first started to become noticable when I was 14 and I’m now 23.
