A week ago my mom, 66 yrs old, was admitted into the Army Base ER in WA State..for a few months now she has been having the shakes really bad, and her legs just give out from under her and she falls…On top of all the other ailments she suffers with..the doctors told her that she has ET I didn’t even know what she was talking about until I came to HealthChannels and found more about ET

As a young girl, I had anxiety and I dont’ remember which came first…the ET or the anxiety. Certainly they fed into each other and anxiety makes tremors worse and tremors make you anxious because you worry about how you look and how you are perceived.

ive had et my whole life it started in my hands by the time i was 25 it was in my head i was told i had a brain tumor to its nothing or ur just nervous i was pushed around from one doc to another finally i found a doctor who really listened and its a good thing because at this point i can barely write this letter and was a single mom doing healing work

I am now 21, I have had ET since I was in grade school, at least that’s as far back as I can think. I have always had a friend or family member ask in a very concerned tone, “Christin what’s wrong, are you ok?” I was finally diagnosed at 18-years old. I went to a Dr. who pretty much threw it off as, yeah you have tremors take propranolol and you’ll be ok.

I have a family inherited tremour which at times is quite pronounced - A collegue of mine at work noticed the tremor during a speech to some clients and informed the boss that I was “cracking up” and “overly stressed” by the workload.
