She had horrible health. She was a smoker and all she ever ate was vanilla wafers and coffee. She eventually became pale and thin. She had a neurologist who was giving her this medication called Tegritol, which she already knew was the wrong medication. He was testing her for the correct medication, though, everytime she came in. He was blaming her for not taking her pills like she was supposed to, even though she tried to tell him he was wrong. My mom started having anywhere from 2-5 seizures a week, instead of her normal once a month. Her neurologist was supposed to recommend her to a hospital. But in his letter, as we found out, he was calling her a liar and describing her as if she was crazy. When we finally got an appointment for a hospital, it was too late. Three days before the appointment, she died. She was only 39. There a lot of factors leading to this result, her health, her medications, and so on. As I later discovered, only 10% of Americans who have epilepsy ever die from it. So, please, if you or a loved one has epilepsy make sure that NONE of this happens. So much has happen to me and my two other sisters. My father, who was 51, eventually had a heart attack out of stress from my mother’s death. He died 3 months after her, leaving us in such a mess. Like I said before, if you or a loved one has epilepsy watch out for this, I, personally, don’t want this happening to anyone else. Comments
