Epilepsy Diagnosis - Is This Real?
by: lois

Last year, I had my first seizure of my life. I suffered from a gran mal, driving my daughter to work w/ both grandkids in car (no wreck or injuries). Thank god I do not remember it, but my tongue will forever, it has not healed yet in over a year. I bit completely through it! I have had all the tests from my neurologist dr. and was placed on dilanton. Nothing showed on any tests, no tumors, no damage, nothing…. Then they called my problem epilepsy How do they know?
Now a year later - no symptoms, no problems, but still I have to take meds.
I can’t afford the meds, and do not think it would hurt to quit, anyone out there have advice on when it ends? My neuro dr doesn’t seem to be at all concerned with my epilepsy Do you know how soon after quitting the meds that I would know if I would seizure again? I really don’t know much about it.
