HVC ESI

by: Stephen L on Fri, Nov 30 2007

Due to two postierior and one “360″ spinal surgery, I have become the ultimate conisure in HVC ESI’s (High Volume Caudal Epidural Steroidal Injections) The difference between the Caudal and perpindicular ESI is the entry point of the catheter. The lady mentioned that she had several injections with no success until she found a Doctor that used a fluroscope to perform the proceedure. She does not mention if she had any previous back surgeries, but if she did and those Doctors tried a Caudal injection without a fluroscope, they were “shooting in the dark” at best and comitting mal-practice at worst.

Now, that said, if she had no scarring on the lumbar spine area, an epidural without a fluroscope should be a relatively easy proceedure.

In any event, I am glad she found relief and a Doctor she can believe in. Amen
