To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Dystonia, not a new development I am a 53 year old women living with dystonia. This is a new diagnoses but not a new disease to my body. For 20 years my illness has been called “chronic fatigue”, “epstein Barr”, “fibromyalgia”, even “celiac disease”, but it all has finally come down to hemidystonia. It was the specialist at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN who listened with a clear ear to my complaints and found the diagnosis. I was started on cenement 25/100 1 at bedtime and could not believe the difference in the relief of my pain and posturing. After 4 weeks of meds my posturing is returning even more then before. My right shoulder is dropping, my right foot pulling in, my right arm draws up to my chest and my neck is stiffening. I’m waiting to hear again from Mayo to see about increasing my meds. I think this is a situation where you have to find a treatment that works for you and you have to adjust meds until you find the mix that works for you. Once this dx was found and I started on the cenement, I didn’t realize how much pain I had until it was gone. During that time I don’t remember feeling as good as I did and I’m ready to have that back! Good luck to all that read this and I would like to correspond with others in this same situation. Comments
