To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download MY mother IDA On Nov. 11, 2008 I posted my blog regarding my mother. Today Nov. 25, 2008 while caring for my mother and cleaning her bedsores she started to gasp for several breathes and she passed on from the physical affects of medical conditions associated with dementia. My mother’s decline was so drastic from 2 months ago until today. I was praying that the FATHER take my mother. We had called for Hospice consideration last week to assist mom in pain management because I was not sure if she was in any pain. She was possibly and it’s a good idea to call Hospice in for you love ones to assist the caregiver in your love ones final days. Mom had to be in some pain with those horrible bed sores and her restrictive movement. Even with the feeding tube assisting her, her body was shutting down and faster than what we expected. If you have a love one in there final stages and you are unsure of their pain , it’s better to get them something. I feel guilty that I did not understand the role of hospice earlier. I thought they would discourage my mother’s feedings through the tube. It was not until my daughter told me of a visit to her college class from a Hospice representative last week that my sister and I agreed to bring Hospice in to help manage our mother’s pain (if any) and now today it’s too late.
