brain dead coma

My brother in law had a heart attack and was not found for a long time. When the ambulance came he was in caradic [cardiac] arrest and it took them 16 minutes to restart his heart and he has been in a coma now for almost 2 weeks. The doctors are looking for next of kin because no action to stimuli by the doctor. I feel he is brain Dead and will never come back to us like he was.
