stupid cow~chronic pain

by: Kat on Mon, Jan 14 2008

My husband and i were traveling on a rural highway at approximately 7:30pm, when we noticed a car flashing its brights at us.. this blinded us from our side of the road and we consequently hit a pregnant cow that was in the road.. never braking. Our car was totalled and my life was changed forever.

I didnt have any visible signs of injury, maybe a bruise or two… but my neck had pain instantly. i went to the hospital as soon as i could ( i didnt feel the need for an ambulence). the diagnosis at the time was whiplash. I was given some perscriptions and told i would be better with time. Six years later im still waiting. I have had xrays, mri nerve tests ( some minor nerve damage was found) physical therapy chiropractic, trigger point injections, radio frequency, and alot of medications. My diagnosis now consists of myalgia, cervical facet arthopathy, arthritis, and soft tissue damage. Ive been told i will be dealing with the pain for the rest of my life. the muscles in my neck , shoulders and upper back are constanly tight and painful. My joints are stiff and also hurt.

I have lost mobility, and strength, and pain that travels down my left arm. I have recently undergone more shots, the ones with a long needle injecting medicine all the way to the bones in my upper back and trigger point injections into the muscles in my neck. Ive gained some relief that makes my daily life more tollerable. Ive also dealth with depression over my feelings of worthlessnes, pain and the disbelief of some people that there is anything wrong with me. If anyone has any advice that might further help me , i would appreciate it.
