To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download My best friend has CP I am 15 years old and I am currently going to high school, where I often help to take care of a boy named nathan who has ataxic (I think) cerebral palsy. He has a very wide gait, limited speech, and motor skills, and has very little muscle mass in his legs and arms. Nathan for some unknown reason *really* likes teeth, and weird noises. I usually help him eat his lunch, walk around the school with him, or just simply keep an eye on him. Although the special ed. teachers at my school are all very good at what they do, I would really like to see Nathan progress a little more in the areas of his speech (which is very limited-like 10 or 20 words) and his coordination (I recently got him to use a spoon by himself, but that is about the limit of his motor skills). But even though I get frustrated when he refuses to try, I get the best feeling when Nathan says a new word or does something that he hadn’t been able to do before. I already know that he is smart, but I want others to realize that too. To be completely honest, I don’t have very many friends, but of those few people that are, Nathan is definitely one of the best. And because of what he has done (whether he kows it or not) I want to make his life better too. If anybody has any advice or suggestions for any type of activity, therapy, or anything else that may help, would be greatly appreciated by myself and especially by Nathan. Thank you, Comments
