carpal tunnel

by: DEB on Mon, Mar 24 2008

I’m 59 years old and broke my 4th meta carpal bone in my rt hand at work last dec07. Hand was put in a cast for 6 weeks and when it was removed, I couldn’t move my fingers and the doc said, I rsd and he sent me to PT and my hand got better, but I stll had burning, and numbness, and a picky feeling in my finger tips in the fingers that CTS takes place.
I had a EMG and was told I had servere CTS. So just two days ago I had my tendon cut and I was hoping to feel some relief, but i didn’t. I was told it might take 3-12 months or longer. I’m still suffering from the problem as of this date.
I have a brace with a ace-bandage for 10 days. I will start PT in about two weeks and hope to get my strenght back as i had before. I hope i get better, but time will only tell if not I’ll have to adapt to my problem for what else can i do.
