To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download A patients nightmare? A day after a routine blood draw, I began to have a numbness in my right thumb area. A day later, excruciating pain shot up the inside of my right arm. More numbness occurred and after more than 3 weeks there is still severe pain and numbness in this area. The doctor sent me to have an EMG done..and the tech said I had a mild case of carpel tunnel. I had no pain before I had this blood test to indicate even a little carpel tunnel syndrome. I use a splint at night but can not use the splint during the day.. the Pain and weakness is with me for 8 solid hours at work. I do a little computer work and write listings of things about 30% of my day. I have been doing this job for many years with no problems. I feel I am a victim caught in a nightmare, I can’t claim workman’s comp, the Doctor can not believe that a simple blood draw could cause this, he refuses to prescribe any pain medication.. and with no relief in sight I feel this is a patients nightmare!! With co-pays mounting and doctor visit after doctor visit on the horizon, is there any one with similar problems or background with a few suggestions. Comments
