Living With Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

I’ve had carpal tunnel for several years–nasty stuff!! However I have had no choice but to learn to live with it. I get laser treatments from my chiropractor which are helping, but progress is slow. I wear splints when I get flareups. The ones with metal supports are guaranteed to set off airport security alarms, but the guards I’ve dealt with have been incredibly kind and understanding and didn’t insist that I remove the splints. As with a lot of conditions, cooperation and understanding from your family, close friends, and /or co-workers is essential. Anyone who is not willing to work with me is no longer my friend, hard nosed but oh well!! Splints do help, you may have to try a few to find the ones that are best for you. I did. Even when you don’t need them, keep them handy and put them on at the first sign of pain, tingling etc. I wear mine most nights and find that is very helpful so that during the day I can go without them more. This is a very sporadic condition so one has to be prepared at all times. Good luck to all!!
