My second time with Bell’s

I first got bell’s in Feb. of 2000. It felt like i had a problem with my right eye, because it was blinking more than the left. As the day went on the left eye wouldn’t close all the way, and my lips wouldn’t move as they should. My co-worker notified management, and they thought I might be having a stroke and sent me to the hospital. Dr. diagnosed it as Bell’s Palsy. Prednisone and eye drops were prescribed. It lasted 3 weeks.

Now 9 years later…
On Super Bowl Sunday 2/2/09 I lost my taste. I dont remember if I lost my taste the first time, so I wasn’t sure what the problem was until the next day when I noticed my right eye twitching again. i still had movement in my lips a little bit through out Monday. On Monday night I felt the symtoms that I had in 2000. On Tuesday i went to the Dr. they prescribed me Prednisone and Acyclivor. It reached its full peak in about 2 days with not being able to smile or close my eye, pain behind my ear, which I didnt have the first time.

My eye drains tears through out the day. Total loss of muscle movement on the left side of my face. It’s a really uncomfortable feeling, but i’ve got to stay positive that im going to get over this. From what I understand you should get treatment within the first few days, otherwise the medication may not work as well. I hope that’s the case for me because I started taking the medication before it reached it’s full peak. Good luck to all…
