7 years of BP…

by: Chelsey on Wed, Oct 15 2008

I just started a new school and week after it started i was at school like a normal day and i noticed kids pointing at me and they would say stuff about my face and i was clueless to what they were talking about. When i got home i looked in the mirror and noticed the right side of my face was druping. I told my mom about it and she took me to the hospital. Thats when they told me i have BP. I couldnt believe it. They didnt give me anything for it and said it should go away in a month or so.

7 years later I still have it. I didnt want to go back to school but i figured if i let it get to me then it is just going to be worse when i went to school because i knew kids were going to say stuff. I still tried to not let them get to me. I was suppose to try out for cheerleading but i didnt know if i should or not because i could not smile that was worth points at the tryouts. My mom talked to the director to tell her my situation and she said she couldnt do anything about it. That just discouraged me more.

I wasnt going to let BP run my life so i tried out and i actually made it. After about 9th grade kids new that they could make fun of me but i would just make fun of myself because i did not let it bother me. I am 19 now and in college and still deal with BP. Recently I have been reseaching BP and i have read of medications but those are for people that have just got BP. I am noticing my face getting a little worse and i think i am going to go the docter to see if they can do anything for it. I just want to tell people new with BP to not let it run there life. Yes i know it is a dramatic thing to deal with but know it could be a lot worse…
