last thrusday i was out with my family an my left eye began to twitch. i thought it was nothing because i have weak eyes an twitching is sumthin they just do. however that evening when i got home it wasnt just the twitchin tha came. my face felt like it was being streched. and my tongue was being twisted. i was very concerned especially since im studying pharmacy at uni, i knew this wasnt sumthin good. i thought that my nerves werent functionin properly and i had an inkling tha it might be due to bells palsy but i wasnt sure.
the next morning i woke up to feel so different. like part of my face was being pulled. i ran into the bathroom and looked into the mirror and was devastated to see tha when i smiled my face was bein pulled to the side. i started crying at once. it wasnt sumthin i could deal with. i found it hard to accept. i went to my Gp and she tried to reassure me givin me steroids, eyedrops, an telling me to do facial exercises. but it seems to be getting worse, at first i was able to frown slightly and smile a little but now the left side of my face just doesnt want to move.
im still young, just 19 and im really scared, nobody seems to understand how im feelin and i get the odd tease ! im scared of goin back to uni now and i think its goin to have a huge impact on my life. im REALLY scared. abnormality is sumthin we as humans find difficult to accept and we point out the obvious !

So, after reading a couple of stories, I should probably back-up a few days on my situation. Some of this info may/may not be related to the Bell’s Palsy that I now have, but it’s worth noting because it’s been a crazy week and there seems to be a lot of unknowns about BP!
