Bell’s times Two

Hi my name is Ruth and on easter 1998 my 8 yr old son woke up and couldn’t move the left side of his face by dinner that easter he was choking every time he tried to eat. The doctors did everything they could think of r/o stroke and other things before they said it was Bell’s. My son who is now 19 still has no movement on his left side the only thing that got better was the fact that he can now eat without choking but it took almost a yr of shock treatments to his face.
Two days ago my 63 yr old father woke up with the right side of his face paralized, so off to E.R. and to deal with a doc that doesnt know what they are doing. I am a paramedic and I ran my dad thru all the stroke checks and then did the bell’s check so I had a heads up about what was wrong and just had to convince the doc. Back home 6 hrs later with prednisone and anti viral. DX Bell’s. Now at least when some one ask my son about his face he has an answer he proudly says I look just like Grandpa of course Grandpa says the same thing. They are mirror images now.
