My bp started with a viral infection 2

I had and still have a cough, laryngitis and some mild chest congestion. After nights of not sleeping, i took a visit to my PCP and was told, “you have something viral going on and I recommend you get lots of rest, eat soup and take a hot steamy shower.” I did just that-but not the soup. I had already noticed prior to my dr.’s visit that my food seemed to be flavorless to me and flavorful to everyone else.

I woke up on Sunday morning, 2 days after visit, and noticed that my lips had a tingling sensation and when I tried to lick my lips, they seemed swollen b/c they wouldn’t close flush when I chewed, not to mentioned I dribbled my beverage. I went to sleep and woke up and realized that when I squinted my eyes-while yawning-the right side of my face was weak. Then came the tingling sensation that I had in my lips. After all was said and done-my symptoms were similar to that of a stroke victim. I went to the ER and was advised, after questions and some strength tests that I was victim to Bell’s Palsy. I

picked up my steroids and anti-viral meds last night and I can already identify some difference-no matter how minute today after my total of 3 doses. I am following up with my PCP on Wed, but regardless of my 10 pills a day, I am thankful that it was caught early and that there is a chance for full recovery-
