bells

by: kim on Tue, Sep 25 2007

One morning I woke up with tingling in my jaw, and my ear was hurting, and my words were sounding slurred. I went on with my day and by that night my mouth was drooping and I thought I had a stroke so I went to the hospital. They ran the stroke tests and they came out all ok so the dr said to me, “You have Bells [Bell’s Palsy].” I had never heard of this! He gave me steroids and I was on an emotional rollercoaster! I went to another dr and she told me that I could stop taking the meds. She said that some drs treat with med and others don’t. She also explained that Bell’s could go away in two wks or six months.

My case improved in one wk and two wks later it is back! Let me explain my life: I have had a lot of stress all my life from the tragic death of my father when I was 5 and terrible teen years left home. At 14, I went through drug addiction. I got clean, lost two out my three kids, got married and got divorced. In the last 7 months, I have been having problems with my stomach. I have had tests done with no answers; pain every day. I also had the flu real bad a wk before this happened. Last, I am getting married again. I have a tremendous amount of stress but I thought that I could bounce back. I found out that this is something that I will have forever! what am I going to do? I am a nature person: I don’t want to take steroids! I also have adhd [attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder] so I take meds for that! if someone that reads this can relate or has any suggestions pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee! help me
