I went through all the similar symptoms and like most people I thought I was having a stroke It has been 4 & 1/2 years since my episode and I have not fully recovered from it. When I smile, my right side of my lip does not go up all the way and my right gets smaller. Thus, assymetry. I can say it gets better after time, but I think I will never look the same as I did prior to BP. I wonder if there is surgery out there that can correct this. My neurologist says no and the ENT MD says it is not that bad where I need surgery. These professionals have no idea that it is a terrible thing to happen to someone’s self esteem. They say oh it’s not that bad, but I DON’T LOOK THE SAME ANYMORE. I can’t smile the way I used to or do certain facial expressions without it looking odd. Don’t get me wrong, I continue my daily life with my family and work, but there are still some times when I feel that someone is looking at me and saying what is wrong with her face. It’s a terrible feeling. Comments
