My Little Angel

by: Cleofe on Sun, Jul 29 2007

My daughter is 2 and a half yrs. old. I know that there was a problem when she doesn’t respond to her name, does not look at us and pay attention to what we say, won’t say or ask what she wants and instead she takes our finger towards the object. I asked Easter Seals to check her out for therapy. She is supposed to get speech, developmental and occupational therapy but it’s been 4 mos. now, nobody came for occupational therapy . I get frustrated coz I don’t get a call back from them and they don’t have a sure answer. For a mother like me its depressing and frustrating. Even for her to get check by a neurologist, it takes months or even years to get an appointment. I don’t know what to do anymore. . . what happened to early intervention that these kids are supposed to get? should we just keep waiting until the damaged has been done? How long should I wait?
