Autism/PDD-NOS

Our son was diagnoised at 18 months. Symptoms at that time were lack of speech and preoccupation with spinning objects. He is now 3.5 years old and has greatly improved in speech (due to Applied Behavior Analysis therapy and public school) and is more sociable (due to play group, library reading club, other social activites). He still conducts repetitive actions and shows other symptoms. But early intervention and agressive therapy helped.

Greatest help was to be patient and understand him, he is a normal kid trapped in a autistic mind. Parenting our autistic son does put extra stress on the marriage, we are careful to keep time for ourselves. Doctors say by age 5 he may be able to catch-up to his peers but we are OK with how he will be, for the rest of our life.
