To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download My mother’s story Currently, mom is slowly dying, she looks today like my sister who died of cancer. She’d gone from walking 2.5 months ago to not walking. I thought she made this choice on her own and it frustrated me. Then went incontinent, very few words and slowly lost her appetite all within 2 months. Today she only moves her hands to touch her face. She still can say her name if coaxed but recently forgot my name. She birthed 10 kids, I’m 54, buried a husband and 2 children in the last 10 years. She cannot remember their names. Two weeks ago my sister and I agreed to put her on a feeding tube. Yet she is still loosing weight. Taking care of her over 5 years was a challenge, even now but when she was cognitive she did not want to go into the nursing home. We want to honor her wishes, additionally, we can minister to her, pray with and for her while there is breath in my mom. I can do for her what she did for me as a child and it’s OK. Peace Be Unto You Comments
