well, 4 months ago I had a sudden onset of pain and buzzing on the tops of my feet when lying down. this then progressed to buzzing, tingling, and involuntary twitching in my hands, feet, lower extremities in a fairly random fashion but always noticeable at rest. Not noted with physical activity. I also have bouts of feeling profound weakness in my upper arms after vigorous gardening or tennis. This part seems to be less apparent right now.

At the same time I suffered a fairly extensive bout of alopecia areata and osteoarthritis changes in the hands. An ANA was low positive and C3 low normal, with C4 protein complement low at 13. All other extensive bloodwork was normal. The persisting symptoms are the constant buzzing and varying degrees of visible fasiculations or sensations only of random flutters in lower extremities and sometimes in arms. My fingers and toes tend to be the focus of most visible fasiculations.

I’m 55. I had a brain mri with non specific white matter lesion changes. The EMg was rated 1plus to 2 with recommendation to follow up in 3 months or sooner if symptoms worsen. I saw a rheumatologist and a general neurologist who does not specialize in neuromuscular disorders. At times I have noticed drooling and clumsiness with dropping items. My mentation seems stable. My NCV was I believe normal. Make any sense of all of this? I guess I didin’t understand the testing lingo and am not sure I got the overal gist of what was possibly being ruled out.
